Fish
We all know what Fish’ is all about. Fish lives under the water having two sets of fins, other unpaired fins and gills to support breathing utilizing water for the oxygen and jaws. Usually, they are covered with scales. They can be found everywhere in the aquatic environments whether it is the depth of the deepest oceans or the highest streams on mountains. Fish lays eggs.
According to Fish Base (comprehensive database of information about fish), there are 31500 species of fish in which African glass catfish, African lungfish, Aholehole, Airbreathing catfish, Airsac catfish, Asian carps, Atlantic cod, Atlantic salmon, Baikal oilfish, Bala shark,Ballan wrasse, Bamboo shark, Bass, Batfish, Bat ray, Betta, Blackfish, Bluefish, Bluegill brotula, California flyingfish, catfish catla, cat shark, crocodile icefish, dragon goby, dwarf gourami, dwarf loach, gray, Mullet, Hamlet handfish jawfish knifejaw, silver carp, x-ray tetra, yellow perch, yellow perch, zebra oto and zebra shark etc are some of them.
In Indian Ocean, there are countless fishes and some of them are Silver Pomfret, Chinese Pomfret, Indian Mackerel, Javanese Cow Ray, Mud Crab, White Prawn, King Prwan, Marine Shrimp, Jawala, Scampi, Pearl Oyster, Indian Dog Shark, Hammer Head Shark, Seer Fish, Black King Fish, Yellowfin Tuna, and Reef Cod.
Fish has always been an ingredient for many culinary arts across the globe. It is cooked at large scale whether it is a coastal area or non one. In India and in other countries farming of fishes has become one of the sources of handsome income. At restaurants or hotels, variety of fishes is served. People love to cook it at home also. Fish can be cooked using different styles of cooking that includes cooking it without spices by steaming then a specific seasoning is done to achieve flavor. Another method of cooking it is to add spices to it then cooking comes next.
Some of the fishes are kept in the offices and homes for the beautification purposes in aquariums. It gives an amazing and soothing feel when we see different live fishes in single transparent tank that is not possible until we go for an under water adventure.
